‘Today’ is a new day full of opportunities — we’ve been given some more time to move closer to our true selves. And there are so many ways we can do it:
Our workplace holds an infinite set of possibilities; today we may decide to reassess our opinion of a colleague we haven’t been getting along with — as we keep in mind the teaching, “that things we don’t like in others are often the reflection or mirroring of something we don’t like in ourselves”.
This day we might increase our connection with the Universe through serving others; perhaps we’ll volunteer in a soup-kitchen or homeless shelter — and discover that we’re meeting the needs of our own ‘ragged, down-on-our-luck self’ as we serve lunch, give a set of second-hand clothes or a bar of soap and a clean towel.
Family members usually offer us plenty of daily options to grow; ideally in deciding to strengthen and improve our relationships with them — which gives us an opportunity to deepen our skills of love, empathy, and patience.
We could also choose this day to meet our ‘self’ in an animal; opening our home to an abandoned pet is a way to bridge our rational ‘human’ and instinctive ‘animal’ aspects — as we consciously choose to care for ‘this’ special pet we can gain greater clarity about our inner selves.
Whichever ways we find to make the most of this day; it has the potential to be a wonderful day, full of interesting things and excellent opportunities — a day worth celebrating!
